I sometimes think...online shopping by internet is like sowing a seed.
As the seed takes time to sprout, the product purchased by internet takes time to reach.
And because I need to wait for what I bought, I could be happier when the product came to me.
Sometimes I wait so long for the product that I can completely forget I am waiting. But this is kind of blessing.
When it comes to me, it is like a surprise present. And I can have a feeling of joy to see the seed turning out to be the flower.
This time, I became so happy to receive white lotus seeds!

What a tough seed!
When I touched the lotus seed for my first time, I felt it was very hard like a stone.
This toughness reminded me of the secret of lotus seeds which could live more than 1,000 years. Because they are coated well and protected well, they can sleep for a long time.
On the other hand, if we can break the coating of the seed or its protection, they can wake up.

I bought these seeds from Julia at ebay who were very kind. She gave me extra seeds and instructions which I thought very useful.
I just followed the seed treatment: Break a little mouth on the sunken end of the seed; this is the end that does not have the nipple, carefully not to hurt the embryo, do not peel. Only nip enough of a small incession to where you can see white underneath. The seller used a small drummel and a pair of pliers to hold it tight.

As instructed, I used a pair of pliers and a nail cutter, but I thought scissors worked good for breaking the seed. I broke 6 seeds and we'll see which one was rightly treated.

This is how I started growing white lotus on September 11, 204. Now I have a quiz for you. Which seed do you think can sprout?

As of September 15, 2014, the answer is 1, 4 & 5.
