It was July 16, 2009 when I had a lotus and water lily plant from Mrs. Akagi. Water lily was easy to grow. In a few months, I started to see the blooming flower. But I knew lotus was growing slowly.

Lotus had some nice leaves after one year but there was no sign of flower.
I waited, waited and waited the flower to come out.

In April 2011, I saw lotus was expanding root systems and divided them into some pots. At the same time, I bought a plastic water pond for the lotus.

I decided to place a water pond near the ramp.

Since then, I started to forget the existence of the lotus.
And it was August 22, 2014 when I noticed the big change.

It was a lotus bud! I truly enjoyed watching this growing bud. It's so beautiful. Is it pink sacred flower? White? I enjoyed guessing the color, too.

Finally, it has bloomed. It was a yellow lotus, so called "American Lotus."
