I regret to inform you that there will be no Toro Nagashi Ceremony at Kukuiula Boat Harbor as scheduled on this coming Sunday because of the possible bad weather and rough ocean. I'm sorry for your inconvenience and possible disappointment.
Instead, we will have a candle lighting service at Koloa Jodo Mission on this Sunday, August 10, at 7:30 p.m. This year, we won't be able to send rafts with lanterns to the sea, but we will send a boat on a truck out of the temple.
At the same time, we send our love and prayer to the deceased.
Also I am planning to talk about meaning of Toro Nagashi from the viewpoint of philosophy. It could be very interesting and worth coming here, I hope.
Once again, no Toro Nagashi at Kukuiua Harbor, but a candle lighting service will be held at Koloa Jodo Mission on this Sunday, from 7:30 p.m.
Light refreshments (dessert and drink) will follow the service.
I will appreciate your help to pass this information to your friends who might have purchased our lanterns.
If you have any question, please feel free to call me at 742-6735.
