Yesterday, Nirvana Day Service was a pleasant and memorable event for me. Uncle Mo took his friend, JT from Oregon, to the service and they performed songs by Violin and Guitar after the service. We also had surprise visitors and one of them was a Vietnamese Buddhist priest, Thích TríThiện who had come to the service here before.
What a treat! I truly enjoyed such a wonderful music, meeting old and new friends, and Dharma Talk by Thích TríThiện. It was my first time to learn how to say "Namu Amida Butsu" in Vietnamese. It was "Nam mô A di đà Phật." I followed what he wrote and what he said, and finally got it. I can now recite
Nam mô A di đà Phật in Vietnamese!
This event actually gave me wonderful opportunities to look for how to say "Namu Amida Butsu" in other languages. It was very interesting because this was something I never done before. After checking several sites of this theme, I found that Wikipedia provided the best information. Based upon that informatiom, I added some phonetics and made easy to know differences as follows.
